Veteran’s Day 2019
The Inn at Belden Village is home to many residents with an array of different backgrounds and stories. Many of our residents have spent time in the military, so Veteran’s Day is very important to us. We wanted to be sure to let our former soldiers know how much we appreciate their service, so we hosted a little ceremony for them and their families.
During the ceremony, all of our veterans were pinned in front of their proud families. We even got to hear from a few of them about their experiences in the military. Resident Ted Adams recited his favorite war poem, “In Flanders Fields”, which was written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae during the first World War. The poem has a beautiful message about continuing to live on and fight the fight to make the fallen proud.
Here’s the poem so you all can enjoy it, too!
